So.....lately I have been going a little crazy with nail polish. I thought I would show you some of the polishes I have picked up recently. Here is a list of the colors from left to right. This past Saturday after a lot of eating and shopping, my mother-in-law and I went to get our nails done. I was planning on just getting a regular manicure, but the lady talked me into getting a gel manicure. I am so glad I decided to go for it. The lady told me the manicure would last two week, if it does this will be the best manicure I have ever had. I love them. I chose a red color since red is always classic and since it is almost December:)





Black Friday Haul




My mother-in-law and I went Black Friday shopping, where I picked up these three sweaters at Old Navy. The blue is the Old Navy performance fleece. I love Old Navy fleece, especially when it is on sale for $8. The green and gray sweaters are a super soft waffle weave that is longer in the back and shorter in the front. This style has been very popular since the late summer when I started seeing it pop up in stores like H&M.

 

Our next stop was Kohl's where we had a lot of great Black Friday coupons to use. I picked up these Vera Wang for Kohl's pants. I got an army green color and a soft brownish taupe color. They were very comfy and it will be nice to wear something other than jeans:) I also found these adorableVera Wang slippers. They are so comfy and so cute!

Our last stop was to Tyson's Corner. We went to several store like Madewell, Macy's, and Victoria's Secret where I picked up some undies, but instead of showing you those I will show you my free gift with purchase. I got this cute tote full of goodies. The tote came with a VS primer, body lotion, body mist, and a $10 off coupon for my next purchase.

Overall it was a very fun and successful Black Friday. I love to be out in the hustle and bustle, it definitely gets my in the mood for Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating today! We have had a wonderful day at Jeff's parents house. The weather was perfect and the food was wonderful. I am currently waiting for the pie to come out:) I am so thankful to be celebrating with my husband this year. We were apart last year, so I have cherished our time together today.

November Birchbox

I was very excited about a week ago when I opened the mail and saw a bright pink box. It was my first Birchbox! If you are not familiar with Birchbox, it is a mail order beauty box you receive once a month. You get 4 to 5 sample size products to try. It you find a product you love, you can order the full size product from the website. When you sign up for your Birchbox you answer a few beauty questions, which determines what you receive in your box. Other than all of the great products you receive, the best part is that it only costs $10 a month! I love trying new products and getting them in sample size is a great way to decide what you like. I highly recommend you check Birchbox out. If you are not in the states, there are many other companies that operate overseas, like Carmine in the U.K. I have tried all of the products except the Zoya polish, which I plan to paint my nail with tonight. Overall I love my November Birchbox and can't wait to receive my December box!

Risotto

I love to cook, and one of my favorite things to make is risotto. I know a lot of people who think that risotto is difficult to make, but it really couldn't be easier. What risotto does require is time. It does take a while to prepare, but it is super easy. The other night I decided to make saffron squash risotto. Instead of using butternut squash I used yellow summer squash and zucchini, since that is what I had in my refrigerator. Oh man was it good! I love anything hot and creamy, and this hit the spot. I also love the crispy sage and roasted squash on top. It was so good, and well worth the time.

So I have a little haul for y'all today:) I kind of went a crazy on shoes the past month or two. The good thing is they were all on sale, very on sale. I think of the group my favorite pair is the leopard boots from Payless. Of course you can never go wrong with animal print in my opinion and these boots are a fun way to add a luxe touch to your outfit. I also love the polka dot button up, it reminds of the Alexa Chung for Madewell top just A LOT cheaper:)

The weather here has been so perfect. It has been warm enough that I have not needed to bundle up, but cool enough to need a few layers. My weekend consisted of shopping and a lot of football watching, which is how a great weekend should be in my opinion:)
